I had some issues with my cameras, operator induced for sure. I haven’t given any attention to figuring out how to best use them while flying since I was concentrating on my instrument rating studies. Now that I’m on to gaining some real life experience the camera footage serves several purposes: 1) informs family, friends, HoundPilot.com followers of what I’m up to, 2) during the editing of the videos I have a chance to see a lot of stuff that I don’t while concentrating on flying the plane, 3) I see things I totally missed in flight such as the good/bad of my radio communications and decision making and learn a lot form reviewing the recordings, 4) it allows me to better debrief my flight using the technical software subscription CloudAhoy.
For this video I had partial recordings from 2 GoPros and some pictures from my iPhone; yes I really need a decent camera as no phone takes acceptable pictures from 6000 ft at 3-5 miles. I edited the hours of video down to 16 minutes. Below are some links to the titles in the video.
